What an amazing wedding! This was my first out-of-state wedding, and the longest I've ever driven to anywhere, ever. Now I can legitimately say I'm a travel wedding photographer!
Joel is my second cousin. He was in the same grade as I was, and living a few miles away, we were often in the same classes growing up. He came on many of our family camping and ski trips, and we were so close growing up it was like having another brother.
Joel and Cyndi met during their time at Whittier College in Southern California. They were together in a statistics class, where they were originally paired up with other people for a class project, but due to unforeseen circumstances, their partners had to drop out. Joel and Cyndi were put together and really hit it off, and became great friends. Even though Cyndi was in a relationship at the time, Joel did eventually ask her out and thus began their journey together.
Their wedding day paid homage to the best parts of their combined heritages. The meaningful and beautiful outdoor Jewish ceremony at the Congregation Ner Tamid synagogue celebrated Joel's Jewish heritage, while the reception at Border Grill at the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace fulfilled Cyndi's foodie side. Every part was meticulously planned out, and it was a gorgeous wedding at some truly stunning locations.
Even through the trials and stress that sometimes crop up around a wedding day, their love for each other won out over any stress and any plans that fell through. Through everything, their desire to be together won out over any temporary distractions. It's plain to see how much they love each other when you're around them, and it's obvious that their love has been strengthened by all they have gone through together, including time spent apart and moving to a new state and starting a new life together.
