Sometimes, things don’t go according to plan.
Sometimes, that ends up working out totally fine anyways.
Initially, Luke found Hadassah a bit annoying. They were both EMTs, and his first impression of her was being awoken vacuuming in the station at 3am. Things began to change when they took an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) together. He got her number at the end of the course, but promptly lost it before getting in touch. He ended up asking her out by sliding into her DMs.
Hadassah and Luke’s first date together was at the Louisiana State University Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge, where Hadassah had her first job, and where they would eventually get married. Since he had just moved from Baltimore, she took it upon herself to show him around town on their first few dates.
After dating for two and a half years, Luke was devising a plan. He worked with Hadassah’s mom to make a custom engagement ring using her grandmother’s diamond from her ring. He ran into a few obstacles to his plan, however. Hadassah walked in on Luke having “the talk” with her dad, and he was later prevented from implementing his big proposal plan and ended up doing a nice intimate proposal plan in the living room instead.
They set their date for December 12, 2020, and then a global pandemic happened. They were hopeful they could still have a wedding, and they pressed forward. They had to make some modifications to the wedding to accommodate. The day of the wedding there was the potential for rain, but it ended up being a beautiful day and there were no big hiccups the day of the wedding, probably because they had gotten all of the gremlins out before the wedding through years of things not going to plan, but everything working out great in the end anyways!
